Sonae Arauco has been investing in the development of new construction and decorative solutions which, while adapting to the most varied technical requirements, play a key role in helping projects to obtain LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) certification – an international seal of sustainability for buildings – from planning to construction and maintenance, namely in the “Materials and Resources” and “Indoor Air Quality” categories.
LEED® is a programme that certifies the sustainability of buildings and how they are planned, built and maintained, providing healthy indoor spaces for their occupants.

In this context, our OSB, PB and MDF solutions fulfil the criteria set out in the LEED® certification, specifically in terms of:
EPDs
We have Environmental Product Declarations for all our ranges, presenting a transparent view of their environmental impact, based on the EN 15804 standard.
Recycling
Our PB solutions incorporate large amounts of recycled wood and, in addition, the company has set up a wood waste recycling circuit, which allows for its reintegration into the industrial process.
Origin
100% of the wood we use comes from sustainable, certified or controlled sources and all our product ranges include FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified solutions.
Low-emission materials
Our OSB, PB and MDF solutions are available with formaldehyde-free resins.
