Lichtenstern Evangelical Secondary School

About the project

A world of color that invites learning

The Lichtenstern Evangelical Secondary School (ELGS) has reinvented itself. As part of a comprehensive interior redesign, selected areas were transformed to create an environment that ideally supports the new educational concept. A key element of this redesign is the Innovus® decor Guava with its soft Super-Matt texture.

The choice of the warm, understated rosé tone of Guava (L5237) is no coincidence. In dialogue with the existing surfaces, this decor naturally extends the colour palette, creating a sense of “warm clarity” that adds comfort to an architecture defined by exposed concrete and darker façade elements. The interaction between Guava, natural wood surfaces, fresh green accents from integrated plants and the building’s neutral grey tones shapes a balanced atmosphere that feels both stimulating and safe.

A palette that inspires comfort, focus and a sense of belonging

The color scheme promotes concentration, creative exchange and a sense of community. It supports the diverse needs of students: younger age groups discover playful, open zones, while older students appreciate opportunities for retreat and a calming foundation for personal development. Guava (L5237) helps create a feeling of security and belonging without dominating the space—remaining inviting and contemporary at all times.

Whether used in modular furniture elements, as wall cladding or in flexible functional areas, the decor creates a consistent visual harmony throughout the school. This subtle balance between permanence and vibrancy is what makes ELGS a place where all students feel comfortable and can fully develop their potential.

“We aimed to infuse the architecture of the ELGS with a warm sense of clarity and to design spaces that combine learning with a sense of joy and security. The interplay between Guava (L5237) and the other materials was key to creating an environment that inspires our pupils and supports them in their learning process,” explains Isabell Ehring, interior designer.
